METATOOL – Creating your own digital design tools

This is the Tsinghua 2015 Summer workshop that I co-taught with Dan Teayoung on teaching students creating their own Parametric Tools and Plugins. The architect is a negotiator, speaking between problems and ideals, skills and limitations,resources and contexts, sites and buildings. Armed with an arsenal of tools, the architect is the optimist par excellence; she absorbs a series of spatial problems, and weaves them into new solutions and possibilities.
